Indonesia: Project Status 07

Through the generosity of the Muslim community in Leicester the orphange (Yatama Umar Faruq) in Montasik, Banda Aceh is now complete. The orphanage will be fully functional from summer 2007. A team of volunteers from Masjid Umar flew out to Indonesia in February 2007 to observe the progress to date. Pictures below were taken during the visit.
Mashallah the Leicester Muslim community should be proud of the lasting gift that has been given to young orphans who lost everything during the terrible Tsunami on December 26 2004.
Masjid Umar hope to give you a further update mid 2007 once the orphanage is fully operational.
